Certifications

There are several opportunities available for certification through TRA. Programs include Servsafe for food safety, TABC To Go for alcohol responsibility, FoodGuard for Texas Food Safety Manager certification as well as other training courses. ServSafe ® Testing
ServSafe ® is a food safety program providing high-quality food safety education and training materials forthe restaurant and foodservice industry. Advancing food safety training for more than 25 years, the ServSafe ® program is recognized and accepted by more federal, state and local jurisdictions than any other food safety program.

User-friendly and flexible, ServSafe ® training materials provide a complementary mix of components to satisfy each level of an operator’s food safety needs. Successful completion of this training earns the nationally recognized “Food Protection Management Certification.”

This comprehensive program offers an assessment, an optional preparatory course in food safety and the FoodGuard online exam.

The Greater Houston Restaurant Association offers a proctored testing site for ServSafe® Certification.

To register to take a proctored exam, call the GHRA at 713.802.1200. You must register at least two weeks prior to the test date, and RSVP must be held with a credit card or check.
NOTE: Two forms of ID must be presented at the time of testing. One must have a photograph. (e.g. driver’s license, passport, military ID, etc.) For ServSafe ® training locations and times, or for other testing locations, visit www.restaurantville.com.
